WHYVOTE CAMPAIGN

WHYVOTE CAMPAIGN

In this project I was tasked in a group project with William Darby to create a campaign to encourage young college students to vote for the #WHYVOTE Usa Competition . Our campaign focused on first time voters who were hesitant to use their civic duty and vote, using pushy and gritty aesthetics along with sharp words and bratty tone - we thought this way would help boost motivation while visually appeal to younger first time voters.  For our product delivery we had to create 1 motion piece, 1 vlog or thought piece and 3-6 still images for social media which is why the smaller ones are 1:1.

In this project we were tasked to create a campaign based around Detroit’s sport team Red Wings and a prompt word which ours was ‘COLLABORATION’ . In our campaign we wanted to tackle the issues stemming around toxic masculinity in sports culture - spefically with young college age men who have the ‘frat boy’ type mindset to remind them it’s okay to be a team player, cleaning up after yourself, and being there for others in support.  The people I worked with on this project were Jenna Vineyard, Morgan Guerrieri, Trinity Tubbs.

DEADSPACE UI/UX REDESIGN

In this project I was tasked with finding a game to redesign its UI. I decided to go with Dead Space (2008) and created a layout reinspiring the UI of the inventory screen and a new design system. I wanted to capture the same feeling as the original just with a more updated UI system that was a little less clustered yet still captured the holographic space future energy.

In this project we were tasked with creating an explainar video, my topic I chose was “Who was the first drag queen?” In this project we were tasked to do a lot of research before creating our motion piece, I went with a color pastel aesthetic while keeping the queens in greyscale because LGBTQ+ people are a joy and light - I wanted the colors to represent that, Drag is also a very colorful art medium and wanted that to show as well in the graphics and motion.

In this project we were tasked in creating a short lyric video to a song of our choice, not using any of AE pre-created effects or transitions and only using the transform tools. I chose the song “Be Nice To Me” by The Front Bottoms, the idea was the lyrics were between two different people talking and having a falling out from being in a toxic relationship with each other. The wolf and rabbit imagery is commonly used to represent toxic / abusive relationships and the gritty dark aesthetics of the design were also to represent the relationship between them as well.

TRANS TRUTH CAMPAIGN

In this project I was tasked in a group project with Lauren Mehl to rebrand an idea and turn into a campaign, we decided to go the political route and rebrand the idea of what “Transgenderism” is and how it isn’t a threat to parents who aren’t too sure about it / more conservative leaning to change their minds and love their kids unconditionally and accept them fully for who they are using Right-Wing Media-like tatics.  Many images were taken from the Digital Transgender Archive.  The campaign include a logo lockup and branding system then we were to take that brand and create assets that included digital assets, merchandise, billboards and posters.
