Guerrilla Girls

Guerrilla Girls

The “Guerrilla Girls, The Conscience of the Art World” designer study was a journey into biographical study and book-making. This project consisted heavily of research and gathering knowledge about the past and present of the design group. Mimicking the energy of the Guerrilla Girls, hot pinks to soft yellows and black to bookend the contrasting energies were used to match with typography and the feel of their work. Figuring out the use of physical materials and the style I wanted to portray for the group was a great learning experience in making contrasting styles come together using chaos and sophistication to visually speak the language of the text.

The Grey Witch 826

The Grey Witch 826

826 Nantucket - a tutoring studio for elementary through eighth grade - is themed from the local lore of of the Gray Witch. The Gray Witch is a metaphor the locals in Nantucket use for personification of the island’s weather that is foggy and gray for three quarters of the year. The 826 store is centered around an experience of combining natural ingredients from across the island to create potions that change the weather and help the Gray Witch create prettier days. Because it is also a tutoring center, the weather-potion experience is derived from color theory for light and projection.
