Magnamic Milk: Brand Identity

Magnamic Milk: Brand Identity

Magnamic Milk is a fictional store that is based on 826 National. They provide tutoring services for kids. This store is located in Bend, Oregon, the inspiration for this brand. Magnamic Milk was based on the fact that Oregon's state drink is milk, and Bend has a lava tube system running underneath it, as well as an extinct volcano. I developed a brand identity for this lava-themed dairy store by juxtaposing cool and warm colors, as well as organic and geometric fonts, creating high contrast. I also made my products fun and bright, with a touch of alliteration to grab people's interest. This fictional store celebrates dairy in a hot new way.

Michigan Balloonfest Poster Series

Michigan Balloonfest Poster Series

This set of posters celebrates the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest through bright colors and varying patterns representing the vibrancy and artfulness of hot air balloons and summer fun, as well as through my use of playful language. I also provided a unique perspective of the balloons from the top, which people don’t typically see. Layering the type underneath the balloons helps to give them depth, as well as playing with their scale. The three posters work together to function properly, as I spread all the content across each one, creating a longer landscape view, like a sky full of hot air balloons.

Gettin' Back To Work - Detroit Pistons Campaign

Gettin' Back To Work - Detroit Pistons Campaign

Gettin' Back To Work embraces the Detroit Piston's determination and hard work by translating this dedication to kids in high school, located in the Metro Detroit area. This campaign delivers the message to "never give up" and that practice makes perfect. Success won't come without trying and trying again. This campaign embraces the repetition and iteration of basketball through repeated type and statistics about building progress to success. I collaborated with Kate Aren, Martina Lasku, and Emily Zhang on this brand campaign.

FULL: Rebranding the Midlife Crisis

FULL: Rebranding the Midlife Crisis

FULL is an abbreviation for Finally Using Life's Lemons and this brand campaign reframes the American idea of the Midlife Crisis into a Midlife Opportunity. Inspired by the phrase "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" this brand celebrates living life to the fullest through zesty and bold colors and embracing typography. The brand elements are abstracted from a lemon into eye catching shapes. I collaborated with Kate Dembowski on this brand identity.

Life's A Picnic With Stephen Frykholm

Life's A Picnic With Stephen Frykholm

Life’s A Picnic With Stephen Frykholm is a 120-plus-page book filled with bright colors, RISO printed pages, and is a compendium of his life as a designer. The concept for this book stemmed from the idea of a cookbook and Frykholm’s picnic posters. I included elements in each section that make up Frykholm as a whole, like ingredients for a dish. I portrayed Frykholm’s fun aesthetic through my use of a playful grid structure, bright colors, and different section tabs, using the RISO machine to reflect the screen printing aspect of Frykholm’s career.

Angled Access: Dishwasher Interface

Angled Access: Dishwasher Interface

Angled Access, was designed to simplify and streamline dishwashing for those who have their hands full. Our specific target audience was a couple with a newborn baby. The angled door handle allows a clear view of the dial which encapsulates the interface designed for quick and easy one-handed navigation. A light indicator was incorporated to inform the user of the dishwasher’s status to eliminate sound as it would be disruptive to the baby. Additional features include a top third rack for small baby dishes, a lock feature on the dial to prevent tampering, and a handle with a rounded edge to ensure safety as the baby learns to walk. I collaborated with Madeline Beattie and Carla Langfeldt on this dishwasher and interface design.
