Chrissy Brown

I grew up with the idea that family can mean more than just your immediate relatives. It can be the people you meet throughout your life that help you learn and grow, the friends that have stuck to you since you were young, and even your coworkers that make workdays more lively. This series documents the people I care about and who I consider a part of my family. Going in with the mindset of a kid, I have been photographing for fun and not worrying about the perfect shot. I explore the concept of blood family and found family by documenting daily life of my immediate relatives and some of my close friends. In this series, I am highlighting the good, the bad and the weird random moments that I see in the everyday life of my big complicated family.

An ongoing project, combining old found family photos and recent pictures of me and my family. Using photoshop to merge these photos, I create images filled with family, nostalgia, and growth.
