A data visualization and experience design of a collection of data. This data set is of people\'s collections displayed on walls for others to interact with. I put the information from the forms on boxes with images provided from the real collections. I wanted to invoke feelings of nostalgia from anyone who interacted with this piece since collections are important to many people in different ways.
I designed this newspaper with my colleague Nathan Hanks. We used the content from an episode of the podcast This American Life called Ghost in the Machine. Based off of the content we designed it as a newspaper using imagery and graphics that relate to the content.
I was assigned to create a storefront brand for 826 National which is a writing tutoring service for young students. I was given the city San Jose, California and during my research of the city I discovered the Winchester Mystery House. From there I delved into research of that house and paranormal. I decided to create a brand that welcomes ghostly encounters that sells products that attracts ghosts.
This book is a redesign of the book Laws of Simplicity by John Maeda. Like the original design I had to redesign it to fit into 100 pages and design it in an interesting way using the original imagery and content.
