Forest Keeper\'s Shelf

Forest Keeper\'s Shelf

This shelf lives in the home of a forest forager, a person who spends their time collecting what the woods has to offer and preserving the goods. I wanted to expand off of the original concept by Min.K Shin, imagining what a space might look like centered around this shelf. For this project, my main focus was storytelling with small details, as well as growing my hand painting skills. It was an incredible process-learning the intricacies of composition, set dressing, foliage creation, and painting a 3D scene in an illustrative style.

Sardine Tin - Hand Painted Study

Sardine Tin - Hand Painted Study

Recently, I\'ve had a weird fixation on sardines and anything fish related, so I thought- why not make a cute sardine tin! I wanted to be loose with this study and really explore a more painterly style that is outside of my comfort zone. This was an opportunity to experiment with color and contrast as well. I had a great time just letting my mind and hand wander aimlessly as I painted.

World of Warcraft Dragonflight: Guardians of the Dream

World of Warcraft Dragonflight: Guardians of the Dream

This is my first contribution to World of Warcraft: Guardians of the Dream! As an intern, with the support of the world-building team, I tackled an island on the coastline. Emerald Island is a refuge area for Emerald denizens. It is a place of safety and relaxation, adorned with a cave, cozy sleeping and sitting areas, and a place to dine. I was responsible for the set dressing and layout of the island, along with terrain sculpting, vertex color, and terrain painting. Storytelling was a big part of the process, intentionally placing props and clustering to bring a story to the environment. I also played around with accent lighting, player flow, and vignettes. Thank you to the WoW Worldbuilding team for the guidance and support throughout my internship! Assets created by the environment and prop teams.

World of Warcraft: Guardians of the Dream

World of Warcraft: Guardians of the Dream

The Druids of the Flame are invading the Emerald Dream, spreading fire and scorching the zone’s lush green environment. Here is one of their portals, The Char- a base for overtaking the area. I was responsible for set dressing, composition, and player flow, along with terrain sculpting, vertex color, and terrain painting. I worked on the layout of the area with an emphasis on the gameplay space and guiding the player. I got to play around with lighting and fog volumes, creating an eerie atmosphere around the POI. I also had the opportunity to expand my work into the interstitial spaces of the Emerald Dream, implementing the iconic dream-style swirls and natural area. Additionally, I collaborated with the Quest team to connect the world-building to the story & quests in the area. Assets created by the environment and prop teams.

Elhearth Alleyway

Elhearth Alleyway

Elhearth Alleyway is an environment piece based off of a city in my in-progress fantasy novel. For this environment, I focused on strengthening my composition skills, material making, and sculpting. This was my first experience creating materials in Substance Designer, and I had a great time learning the process. Lighting was a huge part of this scene, creating strong atmosphere with both day and night.

The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse is a 3D environment project focused on hand painting. I attempted to replicate the 2D concept as close as possible, while making a few stylistic choices that helped form it as a 3D piece. I am extremely proud of the project overall and also how far I was able to push the textures. I love this painterly style and hope to make more hand painted pieces in the future smiley Concept by Tokity János
