The Hideaway

The Hideaway

I've created a pirate cove on a miniature scale. It consists of the cove itself, as well as pirate ships, docks, and housing. I decided to explore pirates because I have always admired the rebellious spirit that they embody and have been inspired by media that focus on pirates; such as Pirates of the Carribean. The base is made of sculpted styrofoam, the water is made from resin, and the minature props are made from clay.

Here I worked as a set and prop designer for Bella Taylor's thesis film. I worked to create envirnments that fit the chapter of Bella's life. Here I gained many skills in working in a large scale team, as well as creating props and sets in a short amount of time. You can find more about this peice of work at bellataylorphoto.com

Sacrifices of an Imaginary Friend

Sacrifices of an Imaginary Friend

Sara’s imaginary friends, Bee, Mini, and Lily have never left her side, even into adulthood. But what happens when these imaginary friends become real? What will it take for Sara to learn the truth? I worked on this short film as a set dresser. I learned how to dress sets properly and how to follow instructions from art director Hailee McClelland and directions from Director Kris Mitchell.

Resin Material Study

Resin Material Study

I studied different mixtures of blues to find the right color of resin for my thesis project, "The Hideaway". This involved me mixing resin with mica powder and how to properly pour resin to ensure proper curing.
