For my senior thesis, I wanted to create a series of themed illustrations for use in a library youth section. The finished project spans a variety of formats, including posters, banners, and web collateral. I chose to theme the project around Michigan wildlife, inspiring the designs for the characters. The beaver, named Oakey, was one of the first designs I finished, leading me to make him the main mascot.
This collection of illustrations is part of an ongoing world-building project of mine. In this universe, an advanced alien civilization, known simply as the Empath Unitary, has integrated itself with life on Earth in hopes of pioneering humanity\'s future. Most of the world has begun to embrace these newfound benefactors, but beyond the reaches of our world, not all is as it seems.
