For my senior thesis, I created a series of illustrations for use in a library youth section. By designing themed materials across different formats, including posters, banners, and web collateral, I set out to create an inviting atmosphere for a hypothetical library youth space. The beaver, named Oakey, was one of the first characters I finished while developing my campaign—leading me to center the project around Michigan wildlife. Following graduation, I had the privilege of coordinating with the Troy Public Library to install one of my works in their youth area. This collection of illustrations is part of an ongoing world-building project of mine. In this story, Earth is under the occupation of an advanced alien intelligence—one that seeks to shepherd humanity into a better future. Despite good intentions, world nations are skeptical of this newfound benefactor and their intent. For the moment, peace remains—but at the risk of provoking a nigh unstoppable threat, humanity prepares for the worst.
