A 40\" x 60\" acrylic painting for Costumed Figure Illustration, inspired by the song \"Bye Bye Beautiful\" by Nightwish, my favorite band. As someone who enjoys gothic fantasy and metal (both musically and materially), I wanted to paint something that captured those interests and interpreted the narrative and poetic lyrics of the song.
A visual development illustration packet for the Lockwood and Co. book series by Jonathan Stroud, a series that focuses on a ghost pandemic and a small three-person ghost hunting agency combatting this problem. Lucy Carlyle is the main character, and I chose to focus on the first novel, The Screaming Staircase, for the keyframe and environment aspects of the project.
This is an ongoing project begun in my junior year to develop the characters and world of an original fantasy graphic novel, referencing Viking aesthetics, fire motifs and various fairy- and folktales.
