Futures Foundation

Futures Foundation

Futures Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has been working with the disabled community within Detroit for over 20 years. The foundation serves individuals and families with developmental disabilities, which are chronic conditions that develop before the age of 21 that cause challenges in life. They provide opportunities and support for a range of needs, working closely with families to fill the gaps of care that other programs don’t provide. Our team - comprised of myself, Andrea Fredriksen, Courtney Shinaberry, and Kristina Webb - created a completely rebranded identity informed by research, discussion and collaboration with stakeholders. Our final identity system rejuvenated the brand, appealing to younger audiences while maintaining brand equity as well as boosting visability and accessibility for people with disabilities. The foundation chose our team as the identity to move forward with out of 3 teams.

826 OAK: Siren Seaport

826 OAK: Siren Seaport

826 is a national chain of writing and tutoring centers for underserved communities that all have unique themed storefronts based on each location\'s history and culture. 826 OAK: Siren Seaport is a hypothetical 826 located in Oakland, California. Derived from research into Oakland, a brand essence of activism, amplification, industrialism and boldness developed and from there, brand elements such as primary and secondary identifiers, a storefront and products, a stationary system and more were created around the concept of a seaport filled with fierce siren creatures who use their strong voices to support their city.

I\'ve Seen Footage Lyric Video

I\'ve Seen Footage Lyric Video

This lyric video was created for the Death Grips song \"I\'ve Seen Footage\" with the goal of utilizing simple motion techniques and principles to animate text and video. Design cues were taken from album art and footage from their music video was used, with text animations rolling like film, sliding like a glock, or otherwise reflecting the lyrics.

Condon Report

Condon Report

Edward Condon\'s \"Scientific Study of Unidentified Flying Objects\" provides 250 pages of copy revolving around reports of UFO sightings and analyses. Inspired by the unconventional attitude of those who believe, the design aims to experiment and play while emphasizing grid structure and pacing. All design elements from the navigation system to the images circle back to the idea of UFOs, using the period glyph from the typeface Paralucent as a reoccurring shape.
