826LOU: Hatter’s Topsy Turvy Emporium

Objective - Create a brand identity for a fictitious 826 store inspired by a U.S. city. In this case, Louisville, KY. Deliverables - Develop a stationary system, an assortment of products, mobile/desktop applications, motion, an employee ID, a storefront, and social media content. Challenges/Opportunities - Designing through the lens of my store’s main character, The Mad Hatter, and sharpening my eye when it came to primary identifiers and name lockups. Takeaways - I learned about brand systems and the importance of being intentional with my design choices. Each design element must be thoughtful and connect back to the store’s overarching theme.

Condon’s Report of Scientific Unidentified Flying Objects. Challenges/Opportunities - Given my book was ultimately 300 pages, some challenges I faced were time management, attention to detail, and file organization. Sugar Consumption Data Visualization

Sugar Consumption Data Visualization

Objective - Collect a data set that interests you and create an engaging and immersive experience that displays multiple variables at once. Deliverables - This data visualization shows an overview of five countries’ average sugar intake while also displaying the prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes in cases per 100,000. This large-scale installation shows data in the form of large lollipops and uses candy to represent numbers. Challenges/Opportunities - Creating an experience that is impactful for the viewer and shows multiple variables at once without cluttering the experience. Takeaways - Throughout the course of this project I improved my skills in time management and planning out the logistics of a life-size installation.
