Michigan inspired Posters

Michigan inspired Posters

Dally is about artists and their identity, I channeled this Dally energy and was able to connect and have a little extra fun making this. I designed posters for "Dally in the Alley," a vibrant Michigan event that I personally enjoyed. Inspired by the festival’s dynamic energy, I created posters that reflect its artistic spirit and community impact. My research revealed that proceeds from the event support Detroit’s revitalization, including street and building repairs, which deepened my appreciation for the festival. These posters aimed to create vibrant and engaging posters for the annual "Dally in the Alley" event in Detroit, targeting local residents and festival-goers who appreciate community-driven art and local culture. The posters along with capturing the essence of the event I also wanted to show and convey its significance in supporting Detroit’s constant growth and acceptance.

54321 zine

Embracing the freedom that zines offer, I experimented with various design styles, color schemes, and printing techniques. I learned the importance of grid systems in organizing content effectively, ensuring that each page was visually coherent while still allowing for creative expression. I focused on integrating illustrations to complement the text and enhance storytelling. This approach helped convey the complex feelings associated with panic attacks in a more accessible and engaging manner. Combining personal anecdotes and visual elements aimed to provide comfort and relatability. I dove into the 54321 method 5 things you can see 4 things you can touch 3 things you can hear 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste.

Ken Blocks Card Deck

Ken Blocks Card Deck

Ken Block was a renowned race car driver and enthusiast of unique, custom-designed memorabilia. Also, in his own way, a hero, the goal of this project was to make a personalized deck that personified the person of choice personality and life, depicting if they're a hero or a villain. Ken Block was a hero to those interested in automotive culture, racing fans, and individuals who appreciate the creativity and personality of Ken Block. through these interesting personifying steps, a creative bibliography of Ken was created. Thorough research into Ken Block’s life, including his interactions with fans, his lifestyle, and his career milestones. Each card was designed to reflect a different facet of his persona, from his racing achievements to his personal interests. Designing the card set involved translating diverse elements of Ken Block’s life into a cohesive visual narrative.

Code a Book

Code a Book

Picking someone who can inspire you is a hard choice, but I eventually settled on John Maeda. Since I've worked through his books in school, I already felt like I knew so much about him to be able to make a bibliography. He has taken huge leaps in the art world and has even added a (for art) into the STEM program. I chose John because he is a symbol of simplicity, and I wanted to make something based on the law of simplicity, “subtract the obvious and add the meaningful.”. I chose to code a book because I knew I could make it an accent to the information inside the book. John Meadas notebook was aimed at designing a book that chronicles the journey of John Maeda, a prominent figure in the world of design and technology. The target audience included design students and enthusiasts who are interested in Maeda’s contributions and career trajectory. The design needed to resonate with a student’s experience, emulating the feel of a personal notebook one might use in Maeda’s class. Hence why, I added some personal notes I've taken from John over the years.
