In a post-apocalyptic Earth, devastated and ruled by mega corporations, society is stratified by a futuristic hierarchy of beauty. The populace inhabits corporate-built cities, where everyone serves the corporations in various capacities. The pinnacle of this societal pyramid is marked by headpieces—wearable symbols of power. The ultra-rich flaunt advanced head monitors that allow them to manipulate their appearance according to the ever-changing standards of beauty. The headpieces worn by the elite are adorned with the finest materials, indicating their unparalleled influence. Meanwhile, the rest of society is relegated to varying levels of headpiece quality, with the lowest strata forced to wear rudimentary bags or nothing at all. Despite the rigid class structure, the alternative is deemed preferable to life in the desolate wastelands.
